A COMPETITION OF EXCELLENCE
The MASTER OF PORT competition celebrates a protected designation of origin, Port, produced in the Douro Demarcated Region, the oldest demarcated and regulated region in the world (1756), and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is organized by the Instituto dos Vinhos do Douro e do Porto, I.P. (IVDP, IP).

Benelux Registration

HOW CAN I TAKE PART?

The MASTER OF PORT competition is aimed at sommeliers and is exclusive to members of the partner sommelier associations.

Candidates must be over 18 and have evidence of having been in active employment for at least two years in premises open to the public in one of the following roles: sommelier, maître d'hôtel, head waiter, restaurateur, wine store owner, or wine merchant.

Previous winners of the MASTER OF PORT competition cannot reapply to take part.

To register, applicants must use the following form. Registration closes on 2nd September 2024.

PRIZES

The winner of the "Master of Port" award receives recognition from the entire sommelier profession and becomes a Port ambassador for Benelux. The winner is also given a silver Port cup with the inscription "Master of Port", a "Master of Port" pin, and a selection of premium Port wines.

The finalists will also receive a selection of premium Ports.

Scandinavia Registration
