Agendamento IVDP

The Solar do Vinho do Porto, in Lisbon, was opened by the Instituto dos Vinhos do Douro e do Porto, I.P. (IVDP), on 19th February 1946.

It is in the centre of Lisbon, in one of Lisbon's emblematic areas known for its intense nightlife, between the mythical neighbourhoods of Chiado, Bairro Alto and Príncipe Real, facing the stunning panoramic view of the Miradouro de São Pedro de Alcântara viewpoint and the emblematic Elétrico da Glória.

The Solar now occupies new premises in the Palácio de Ludovice Wine Experience Hotel, the former private residence of João Federico Ludovice, architect of King John V, in the 18th century, where it is possible to taste different categories and types of Port and Douro wines, in a newly renovated environment.

The renovation of the Hotel and Solar do Vinho do Porto was headed by architect Miguel Câncio Martins, responsible for projects such as the Buddha Bar, in Paris and the Opium, in London.
It is a privileged space for the promotion of Port and Douro wines, where the consumer can taste and buy approximately 150 brands of these Douro Demarcated Region wines.

The Solar do Vinho do Porto, in Lisbon, has always been a reference on the capital's leisure maps, with intense demand by tourists who visit us from all over the world.

In partnership with the Palácio de Ludovice Wine Experience Hotel, the Solar offers tutored tastings and food pairings, subject to previous reservation. It is also possible to buy bottled Port, books and other articles related to Port and to the Douro Demarcated Region.

To get to the Solar do Vinho do Porto you can take the Elevador da Glória, in Praça dos Restauradores, in the heart of the city centre.
